THIS IS THE PLACE TO SHARE FILES AND MEDIA
Please post your links to videos, audio recordings, music scores for illustration or sharing as well as any other media of great classical music here. Note, that images are also inside the "Gallery" at the top of the screen page and the still images can be placed there. This video is the first one to get us started and inspired to talk about what makes us happy as musicians when we work and play... others work - we play, as one of my teachers used to advise me.
True, our work is one of the most intense of all, but... we play as we work - what could be more pure or a better shelter? Enjoy!...

Great Video! Here is another one...
It is obvious that Gould was in another world and that everyday problems where left outside his windows... Glenn Gould and Artur Rubinstein had interesting conversations too!
This one is from a very personal and touching conversation with the great master Artur Rubinstein, towards the end of his life as he tells about his philosophy on life and music.

Very Profound!
I have this entire conversation on LaserDisk, which I believe is out of print. The above conversation is a wonderful look into the mind and heart of Rubinstein. Many have attacked his autobiography (also out of print now for a while), but I really enjoyed both books - "My Young Years" and "My Many Years." It is a shame that so many great performances and historic documents have been left to perish with the so called "advancement" of the media mediums. That is why this forum is also a bastion of hope for the preservation of truth. It is all too easy to forget and burry what true, inspired humanity and passionate, risk taking performance really is. Music making has changed to a safe and predictable, repeatable imitation. Here is another example of the Golden Age of romantic music making. Leopold Auer is the performer below. Auer was the teacher of my mother's teacher. His teacher was Josef Joachim - a friend and the great violinist for whom Brahms wrote his violin concerto and who wrote the letter of introduction for the young Brahms when he met Robert and Clara Schumann. The source and great lines of music making have come to me from many sides, but this super sensitive nature of perception is the one I treasure most. Enjoy this performance and its close and direct connection from the performer you hear to the composer whom music he is performing.
It is a lost art to hear past the imperfections of time's weathering and the limitation of the old recordings, but looking past the rain - the most beautiful landscape will unfold outside the box.
